Audi Meets ‘TWILIGHT’ in Super Bowl Ad !!!

Venables Bell & Partners half-embraces and half-spurns pop culture’s obsession with vampires in its 60-second Super Bowl commercial, posted below. The spot, airing in the first ad break after halftime, features the new 2013 Audi S7 with the brand’s signature LED headlight technology—which is the focus of the piece. It shows a vampire party in the woods being abruptly halted by the moronic blood sucker who leaves his headlights on after coming back from a pizza run—to the violent demise of those assembled. “In the spot, Audi LEDs—which at 5,500 Kelvin produce the closest recreation of daylight available—put an end to the vampire party, and perhaps, to the greater vampire trend in pop culture,” Audi of America CMO Scott Keogh says in a statement. Talk about biting the neck that feeds you. The spot nicely uses “The Killing Moon” by Echo & The Bunnymen, and so recalls Donnie Darko, which used the same song in its awesome opening sequence. The spot was “unlocked” late Wednesday by Facebook users who solved Audi’s social media contest called “Race the Light.”

Robert Pattinson to Attend “Bel Ami” Premiere in Berlin !!!

We’re so excited to see Robert Pattinson on another red carpet…and it’s less than a month away!

With no Cosmopolis premiere in sight and Breaking Dawn — Part 2 almost a year a way, we were starting to wonder when we’d get to see Robert Pattinson‘s handsome self walking down a red carpet — and now we have an answer!

The people who made Bel Ami at Studio Canal UK released a statement today about the upcoming premiere.

“We are delighted to confirm that the official World Premiere for Bel Ami will take place on February 17th, 2012 as part of the 62nd Berlin Film Festival,” the statement reads.

Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and our directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod will walk the Berlin red carpet and give us the opportunity to complete press and launch the film across Europe in the best possible fashion.”

The only thing that could make this red carpet better would be an appearance by Kristen Stewart to support her man. Wouldn’t that be incredible?

Elizabeth Reaser Steers Her Way To The Off-Broadway Stage !!!

“Twilight” vampire Elizabeth Reaser steers her way to the stage for the 15th-anniversary Off-Broadway revival of How I Learned to Drive.

Elizabeth Reaser is hell on wheels. “I started stealing my parents’ car and my friends’ parents’ cars in the middle of the night when I was ten, and we would just joyride,” she recalls. “I was such trouble. By the time I went to driver’s ed, I already knew what I was doing.”

Driven by the same childlike fearlessness, Reaser, 36, is gearing up for the Off-Broadway revival of Paula Vogel’s How I Learned to Drive, opening Feb. 13 following previews at Second Stage Theatre. Reaser stars as Li’l Bit, the sexually abused narrator of the Pulitzer Prize–winning memory play. The darkly comic coming-of-age drama follows a young girl whose alcoholic Uncle Peck (two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz) crosses the line during a series of intimate driving lessons.

After earning an Independent Spirit Award nomination for the film “Sweet Land” and an Emmy nomination for her recurring role on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Reaser has become most widely known — cue the screaming tweens — as Esme, matriarch of the Cullen vampire clan, in the supernaturally popular “Twilight” films. Currently appearing opposite Charlize Theron and Patrick Wilson in “Young Adult,” she returns to the New York stage for the first time since The Winter’s Taleat Classic Stage Company in 2003. “Being a theatre actress was always my dream, and I’ve really missed it,” says Reaser, who studied drama at Juilliard. “When this opportunity came out of nowhere, it blew me away.”

Reaser and Peter Facinelli “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

Kate Whoriskey, who steered the Off-Broadway hit Ruined and the recent Broadway mounting of The Miracle Worker, directs How I Learned to Drive 15 years after it premiered at the Vineyard Theatre as a vehicle for Mary-Louise Parker. Due to the prevalence of pedophilia in the news, Reaser believes that the revival couldn’t come at a better time. “It’s a very taboo, complicated subject, and it’s probably way more common than any of us realize,” Reaser says. “This play captures something emotionally true about that experience, and it’s a story worth telling.” Worth hearing, too, especially by Twilight fans who want to see their beloved Esme Cullen in the flesh. “The play speaks safely to young girls; there are some horrible, heartbreaking elements to the story, but it’s also funny and, as Paula Vogel might say, it never abuses the audience.”

Although she’s approaching How I Learned to Drive with one of the world’s biggest film franchises in her rearview mirror, Reaser’s long absence from the stage occasionally fuels her nerves. Co-star Norbert Leo Butz, who most recently brightened Broadway’s Catch Me If You Can, helps her stay on course. “It’s brilliant casting, because there’s no one more charismatic and likable than Norbert, but I also knew from the beginning that he would take good care of me,” she says. “The first time we hung out, we solemnly swore that we would always be there for each other, because that trust is so important. Besides, Li’l Bit is the role of a lifetime, and I’m excited and honored to be going on this amazing ride. No pun intended.”

Photos of Rob and More in Bel-Ami !!!

Robert Pattinson follows-up his non-Twilight lead in ‘Water For Elephants’ last year with new drama ‘Bel Ami’, in which he stars alongside Uma Thurman, Kristen Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci.

The film hits cinemas in two months’ time, and a new batch of stills have been released to whet appetites in preparation for its screening at the Berlin Film Festival, and its UK release date of March 9.

Pattinson plays penniless ex-soldier and social climber Georges Duroy the Guy de Maupassanint novel adaptation, which is a tale of ambition, power and seduction billed as this generation’s ‘A Dangerous Liason’.

With his ‘Bel Ami’ pay cheque, we’re sure R-Pattz will be satisfying his girlfriend Kristen Stewart’s alleged obsession with cheap crisps Space Raiders.

Jackson Rathbone Calls Kristen a Force to Be Reckon With …..

Jackson Rathbone (“Jasper Hale”), while attending last night’s premiere of Man On A Ledge (more on that here), spoke up about what Twilight fans have to look forward to from co-star Kristen Stewart (“Bella Cullen”) as a vampire in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Speaking to Hollywood Life, he gushed, “You finally get to see Bella realize herself as a vampire,” he tells us. “And that is fun for everybody. You know she is such a powerful force. Kristen really brings this animosity to Bella that we haven’t seen during the course of these films. It is really exciting to see Kristen step up and really bear her teeth, so to speak.”

Rathbone sure is quick with the puns, isn’t he?

Kristen Stewart herself told Box Office Magazine last fall that she quite enjoyed taking on the task of portraying a vampire for Part 2. “It was a strange experience walking on set the first time I played a scene as a vampire because I’d watched everyone around me doing it all the time. I sound so lame, but vampire Bella really is my favorite character—she’s very representative of a matriarch. She’s very intuitive on almost a psychic level and no one ever acknowledges it, which is interesting,” she explained.

She must’ve done something right because she even impressed Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer, who told USA Today last March, “She’s created a new character. I was really impressed . . . I’ve only really seen her as (the human) Bella so to have her step up and change it in the right way — she didn’t have to talk to me. She knew. She knows the character so well now. She has really good instincts and, she looks amazing.”

So, is this the most exciting part of what’s to come from Part 2 for anyone else, or is it just me?

Will This Be The NEXT ‘TWILIGHT’ ???

BOOK REVIEW: Switched

She’s tipped to be the next Stephenie Meyer so Twilight fans keep your eyes peeled, Amanda Hocking’s first edition of the amazing Trylle trilogy already has us begging for more!

Switched tells the story of Wendy Everly, your typical rebel teenager with a troubled childhood, (well, as far as being almost murdered by your own mother can be called typical.) At the tender age of six Wendy’s mother attempts to kill her because she believes Wendy was switched at birth and is a monster that couldn’t possibly be her daughter. As the novel develops we realise she’s may not be far from the truth, although Wendy may not necessarily be a monster she is definitely not a human either.

Wendy has to keep a secret from everyone around her, she has the ability to do things that make her think she’s crazy or that if she told anyone about would definitely make her look insane however deep down, she knows her mother isn’t entirely wrong when she tells her she doesn’t belong in this world. Her ability to influence other people’s thoughts make Wendy feel like an outsider and although she can’t pin-point why or how she is doing it, she knows she’s doing it and often uses this mysterious power to her advantage. Just as she’s starting to believe she’s going crazy and begins blaming her power on pure coincidence, hot new commer Finn joins her school. There’s something odd about Finn that attracts Wendy to him, it’s not just his good looks that always make her gaze at him. It’s a weird sense of familiarity that makes Wendy want to know more about Finn and for the first time want to make a friend.

We discover Finn holds the key to her true identity as well as all the answers she’s been searching for, he confirms that she is not only different but special and the pair set on an adventurous fantasy filled journey that will keep you turning page after page.

Some “TWILIGHT’ Family Car Stickers :-D

Now this is some Twilight merchandising we can get behind (and not something from Hot Topic, thank God): A snarky take on the typical family car stickers you’d see plastered to other people’s SUVs while driving along the freeway. Cartoon Solutions, Inc. (via Twilightish) has created two sets of stickers, one for each of Bella Swan’s supernatural lovers.

You can go the canon route and do Bella and Edward, with little Renesmee and — this kills me — a lion and a lamb.* The Jacob one is incredibly accurate; that pairing gets a wolf in the “pet” category. You’ll also notice that you can get the characters in “adult” and “child” formats; I’d have to say that the little Bella and Edward look a lot more like Buffy and Spike than their actual selves. (Little Jacob’s face is still perfect.)

The stickers cost $2.75-$4.75 a pop; unfortunately, there don’t seem to be any group rates. But I’d recommend this for any rabid Twilight fan—especially to watch through the rearview mirror and see the look of slackjawed surprise on the face of the driver behind you as s/he almost rear-ends you trying to figure out who’s on your window.

*“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb,” of course.

‘Twilight’s’ Nikki Reed Starring in Psychological Thriller !

Twilight's Nikki Reed And Jake Hoffman To Star In Psychological Thriller Snap image

Creative partners Victor Teran and Youssef Delara of Cima Productions have been actively promoting their latest collaboration, the Hip Hop-driven drama Filly Brown at Sundance this year. The film, which centers on a young, Latina rapper’s conflict-ridden rise to fame, is lead by newcomer Gina Rodriguez, and features appearances from Lou Diamond Phillips and Edward James Olmos. While the jury’s still out on the drama’s Sundance success, Teran and Delara are eagerly sharing news on their next effort, a psychological thriller titled Snap.

Like Filly Brown, Snap focuses on an undiscovered musician, in this case a shy-but-brilliant dubstepper. Jake Hoffman, the lead of the 2009 Shakespeare-inspired horror-comedy Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead, is set star as this troubled genius, while Twilight‘s Nikki Reed has signed on to play a social worker who is the object of his affections. Lured in by his mesmerizing musical skills, she follows him into the underground dubstep scene, but before long his personal demons become too much for her to handle. Set in a world of high-energy and relentless beats, this affair is doomed to end with disturbing results.

This pulse-pounding thriller will mark the directorial feature debut of Teran. The Filly Brown producer wrote the script for Snap, and will co-helm alongside Filly Brown‘s writer and co-director Delara. Speaking to Deadline, Delara expressed his enthusiasm over Snap‘s cast, cheering:

“We’re extremely blessed that, after our amazing experience with Gina Rodriguez on Filly, we get to continue working with more brilliant young actors like Jake and Nikki.”

The film could prove a breakthrough for each performer, as Teran and Delara have admitted their hopes of Snap making Sundance’s 2013 line-up. In the meantime, Hoffman will be seen on the January 29th episode of Californication in a supporting role, and Reed will reprise her role as Rosalie Hale in the final installment of the Twilight franchise, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, which will hit theaters in November.

Production on Snap is slated to kick off March 26th.
