She’s a hero to millions of young girls thanks to her role as vampire Alice Cullen in the Twilight films, so it was fitting that 24-year-old Ashley Greene stepped out tonight in support of a charity that aims to help stop teenage abuse.

And the brunette pulled out all the stops for the Louder Than Words event sponsored by Break The Cycle and the National Dating Abuse Helpline at Avalon in Hollywood tonight.

The pretty brunette combined a vampiric colour palette with the timeless elegance of Hollywood to breathtaking effect.

Choosing a subtle array of make up, she had her her hair swept up into a loose, side chignon to highlight her delicate bone structure and dainty pinched nose.

Her dress could’ve fallen flat with it’s passe sequin splatter effect and bubble hem, but the white feather pattern at the hem saved Ashley from looking like she was heading to a vampire prom.

She accessorised with delicate earrings and sexy pointed stiletto patents.

Greene made her name playing Robert Pattinson’s on-screen sister but she has a host of new projects coming up, including Butter with Olivia Wilde.

The comedy, which is released on March 16 and also stars Jennifer Garner , 39 , sees her lock lips with her fellow dark-haired beauty, which she described as ‘really fun.’

‘It wasn’t that awkward,’ she told Lucky magazine in its March issue.

‘It’s the same idea as having to kiss a male co-star and it’s not real. Olivia is such a cool chick and very professional. So we were just messing around and cracking up in between scenes…’

Before adding: ‘And now I’m the envy of every straight male everywhere!’

And with a dating history that boasts Joe Jonas, Chace Crawford, and Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill, she’s also the envy of women everywhere.

But the pretty brunette, who is currently dating Broadway’s Spider-Man, Reeve Carney, adds that she’s careful not to let romance distract her from her work.

‘I’m so laser-focused on my career, because when you’re dealt these cards, if you don’t kind of run with it, then you’re an idiot,’ Greene said.

‘What’s most attractive to me is someone who has the same amount of drive as I do, someone who’s equally busy.’

Ok So Who Is A Little Grumpy? The Dwarfs Of Snow White and the Huntsman !!!

One aspect we haven’t really seen in the various trailers, teasers and photos from Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman is the film’s interpretation or portrayal of dwarves.

Fortunately, the studio recently posted a pair of new stills on its Facebook page, which includes an image of the huntsman, played by Chris Hemsworth, walking with a group of dwarves, decked out in the furs and leathers of trappers and woodsmen.

This image further solidifies the vast difference between in terms of tone between the two upcoming Snow White adaptations – the other being Relativity Media’s Mirror Mirror with Lily Collins. Huntsman has a more serious air, and presents itself as an epic fantasy storyline, while Mirror Mirror is a goofy slapstick comedy with some romantic comedy elements.

The dwarves look fierce, stoic, and ready for a fight.

In contrast, the dwarves of Mirror Mirror look more like a carnival comedy troupe, as you can see in the picture below.

Now, I’m not saying this is necessarily a bad thing. I’m sure there is a large audience for a slapstick romantic comedy fairytale, but it rankles only because the official descriptions of the film claim to be a ‘dark’ adaptation of the classic tale, while the trailers and photos tell a completely different story.

The other photo from the Snow White and the Huntsman facebook page recently is less telling, but still very tonal:

We’ve seen an awful lot of Charlize Theron’s witch already, as she seems to be the primary focus of most of the promotional material – almost ignoring Kristen Stewart’s Snow White depiction after the initial reveal of her in shiny platemail a few months back.

The synopsis of the film is thus:

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.

Audiences won’t have to choose only one Snow White however, as they release a bit apart. Snow White and the Huntsman is slated to hit theaters on June 1, 2012, while Mirror Mirror will be out on 16 March 2012.

For some, it would be a fantasy come true. But for Twilight‘s Ashley Greene and House hottie Olivia Wilde, making out in their new movie Butter was just part of the job.

“It wasn’t that awkward. It’s the same idea as having to kiss a male co-star and it’s not real,” Green told US mag Lucky. “Olivia is such a cool chick and very professional. So we were just messing around and cracking up in between scenes, and it ended up being really fun.”

The appeal wasn’t lost on the 24-year-old star, who added: “Now I’m the envy of every straight male everywhere!”

But we may not get to see the liplock for a while yet — Butter is out in the US in March, and no Aussie release date has been announced yet.

The dark Little Miss Sunshine-style comedy follows a bunch of competitors in a butter sculpture championship, led by Jennifer Garner and Modern Family‘s Ty Burrell.

Hugh Jackman plays Jen’s ex-boyfriend, while Wilde is a sassy stripper, and Greene is Jen’s rebellious teenage daughter.

Ashley Greene Is Ready To Move On……………

Although Twilight helped launch Ashley Greene into the spotlight, the 24-year-old actress is ready to be taken seriously as an actress and land leading role. Best known for playing Alice Cullen in the vampire franchise, Ashley recently opened up to Lucky magazine to dish about her struggles to break through and prove her worth in Hollywood.

“Twilight has given me something to skyrocket off of,” Ashley tells the magazine. “But now that it’s ending, there’s so much work to be done. And if I don’t do it, then Twilight‘s all I’m ever going to be known for, as great as it is.”

She continues: “Basically I went from ‘dying to get a gig’ to ‘dying to get the gig that everyone wants. So now I’m in this realm with a lot of highly respected actresses, which is an amazing place to be, but also kind of terrifying.”

Although her fame came quickly, Ashley thanks her lucky stars that she didn’t fall victim to the bad habits of partying all night long — like other young starlets have faced.

“I was like ‘Oh, I can go out and do this and do that,’ and it took me about five seconds to realize ‘If you do that, you’re not going to book jobs, and there are 10,000 girls who want your job,’” she said.

“Yeah. It’s all glitz and glamour in Hollywood, and you want to be part of it. And the deadly thing is that you meet people who do have the money and do have fame and are in a position to not spend every waking moment working toward getting a job, and it’s easy to feel like you can do it too, when really you haven’t earned it. You can either socialize or you can study your script, and luckily I learned that pretty quick!”

The rumours began swirling after Variety’s film editor Josh Dickey tweeted on Friday: ‘OTR is finished. Took 1 year to edit, and is very, very good. According to a discerning and in-the-know viewer, it’s so good that
it would not be a stretch to see it open Cannes.

‘Producers are thrilled with the result & eager to at least have it there.’

Kristen looked miles away from the red carpet of Cannes as she made her way through airport security though.

The actress was in her usual uniform of skinny jeans, this time from designer Victoria Beckham, along with trainers, a T-shirt tied at the waist, and a jacket.

Kristen was without her boyfriend Robert Pattinson, instead arriving with her burly bodyguard, who guided her through the throng of travellers at Roissy.

Miss Stewart has been working on promotional material for her upcoming blockbuster Snow White And The Huntsman. She and co-stars Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth were spotted posing for a magazine photoshoot together on Friday in LA before she flew out of town.

While she has admitted to feeling awkward in front of the camera when she’s not in character, Kristen will have to get used to it, after being named as the face of Balenciaga’s new fragrance.

Earlier this month the actress, who has begun to embrace her stylish side in the last year, told Women’s Wear Daily: ‘Balenciaga has always stood out to me. Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga.

‘It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is.’

Breaking Dawn: Part 2 is released in November, and will see Kristen’s character Bella become a vampire as she and husband Edward (Pattinson) fight to protect their family from the Voltari.

In a new interview, Catherine Hardwicke reveals the REAL reason Rob had to pop a Xanax before his ‘Twilight’ audition.

We’ve heard this before, but honestly, we never get tired of hearing it: Robert Pattinson has always been in love with Kristen Stewart! “He was nervous,” Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke recalls during a chat with Young Hollywood at Sundance. “I know he really liked Kristen. I think he [had always had a crush.]”

Catherine says she invited Rob to audition at her house to help calm his nerves, and believe it or not, no one expected the movie to blow up into a global phenomenon.

“The weekend before it opened, they were telling me, ‘Maybe it’s only 400 girls in Salt Lake City… texting,’” Catherine says.

Well, that was a slight underestimate.

How “The Bachelor” is Like “Twilight”

So, what type of impact is the false romantic reality of The Bachelor having throughout society? Are we normalizing false hope? Is The Bachelor really just a cheater’s paradise? And why are viewers so attracted to the idea that’s it’s okay for ten other gals to get with your potential man first? It’s crazy!

Interestingly, a similar theme runs through The Twilight Saga movies. Yes, they are two very different things, one’s fiction and one’s alleged reality. But if people believe in true love, why are we so drawn to stories that highlight false hope as prerequisites to a perfect romance?

In The Twilight Saga, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) loves Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). She’s so in love with him that she’d die just to see him, if only as a passing glance. But she also has Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), her dependable best friend who she has feelings for, too. That’s how the whole Team Edward vs Team Jacob feud was born. But Bella is so emotionally dependent on Jacob that she knowingly strings him along. Jacob goes along with it in the desperate hope that she may one day change her mind and choose him.

It’s in this dependency that I see the connection between The Bachelor and the Twilight Saga. Both aim for true love, but they drag you through a whole mess of emotional crap before you can even think of a fairy tale ending. Why are we normalizing false hope and saying it’s okay?

If this was your life, would you be willing to settle for that? I suppose if you were Bella or The Bachelor, options make the question easier to answer, in theory at least. But none of it feels natural.

Sure there’s voyeuristic entertainment value, but that doesn’t make it okay for everyone. Is real romance dead? If you’re taking your cues from reality television or fantasy, let’s just say it’s not real. And like so many dysfunctional relationships in society, if love doesn’t evolve organically or in some natural way, it can be a recipe for disaster and heartbreak. Does love conquer all? I don’t know. Does it really come down to getting a rose?
