NEW MOON Fever – What compels this twenty-something to see New Moon 3 times in 48 hours.

My weekend schedule:

  • Thurs: Alamo Drafthouse -  Village, Twilight / New Moon Double Feature
  • Friday: Alamo Draft house – South Lamar, New Moon
  • Saturday: Gateway 16 Multliplex, New Moon

Hey folks, I’m waiting to start work in a couple of weeks. My Love of  The Twilight Saga and lots of free time equals you see the film as much as possible. I noticed my breath still caught in my chest, as for the third time, Edward broke it off with Bella. Damn! I thought I’d wanna tear Edward’s  behind a new one, but I just felt devastated as Bella did. Success, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson! And sadly, I was deprived of Charlie’s angry scene as Edward drops Bella off after their Italian adventure. I know Dad’s can identify with wanting to protect their daughter’s from the physical and emotional dangers of this world. Any Twilight Dads wanna fess up right now to feeling the same?

Why would I do this? I’ll be honest. I  wanted to forget my own  perfectly human struggles going on at the moment.  Any particulars relating to strictly being a  vampires or a  werewolf, I’d so rather deal with.   My mind got a vacation and I got lost in a fictional person’s issues for two hours and ten minutes, three times. I needed to see a girl come back from her heartbreak and acknowledge things were not perfect, but she has love that very nearly is.

At least this love, had withstood the test of hungry vampires, raging werewolves, and broken hearts. That’s what I hope for,  a love to withstand the ups and downs between this imperfect girl (me) and some lucky (not so perfect either) man.  Plus, the eyecandy was plentiful and the acting was excellent. Finally, I had seen it enough to leave the fantasy behind and face my reality. Wait a minute, my sister hasn’t seen this movie? Bye Twilighters,  I got to go make a phone call.

What propelled you to see New Moon mutliple times? Tell me.

I’ve seen New Moon 2 times and I will probably see the movie a couple more times. I know the movie is fictional, but its the love between Edward and Bella that draws you in. The love that is forbidden. It’s seeing a relationship go to hell and back from a break-up and other obtacles hindering a their relationship. Getting back together picking up the pieces. It’s seeing how strong love can be between two people even if you are a Vampire or Human. Plus the whole Vampire, Werewolf thing make the story kiind of exciting. Sometimes in real life we just want to see a happy ending. This is why we love Bella and Edward and why we want to see them have a happy ending even though their love is forbidden.
