First team

Maryssa Carey, Hobart, senior: She had a stellar postseason in singles while posting the second highest average in the region with 207. She was sixth in sectional, seventh in regional, second in semistate and fifth in state.

Megan Grams, Michigan City, sophomore: Her improvement from last year was exceptional. She averaged 204 while finishing fourth in sectional, ninth in regional, 19th in semistate and fourth in the Holiday Classic.

Megan Heflin, Lake Central, senior: She not only averaged 203 in the regular season with a 499 high series, and placed eighth in sectional, but hit the biggest shot of the season to give the Indians a state title.

Makayla Himden, Portage, sophomore: She emerged as the Indians’ best bowler with a 191 average, then took second in sectional, fourth in regional, ninth in semistate and 21st in state in postseason singles.

Marissa Metcalfe, Hanover Central, freshman: She burst onto the scene as the best in the Quad County Conference with 186 average. She also was first in sectional and second in regional with top qualifying score of 629.

Emily Payne, Lake Central, sophomore: She’s the Indians’ up-and-coming star after finishing second in sectional, 10th in regional, first in semistate and 20th at state after averaging 196 in the regular season.

Sarah Voiers, Chesterton, senior: She finished her career on a high note, averaging 215 for second high in state. She was eighth in sectional, first in regional and anchored the Trojans’ state runner-up squad.

Second team

Ale Albanese, Griffith, senior: She improved her average 15 pins from last year to 195, had a high series of 470, won the Greater Lake County Sectional and finished fourth in the Region Rumble.

Savanah Becker, South Central, senior: In her final year of bowling against the boys on the co-ed Satellites team, she averaged 203 with 480 high series. She also placed 10th in the Lakeshore Sectional girls division.

Samantha Bugno, Highland, junior: She was the only area girl to shoot 300, as part of a 739 series in the Mystery Doubles event. She averaged 178, also had a 279 game in the regular season and was second in the Holiday Classic and Region Rumble.

Erin Drang, Kouts, senior: The lone bowler from the small Porter County school averaged 184 and finished second in sectional, 11th in regional and 13th in semistate.

Alyssa Foster, LaPorte, sophomore: She averaged 192 in the regular season, then finished seventh in sectional and eighth in regional to advance to her first semistate.

Heather Waters, Chesterton, junior: She won the Lakeshore Sectional, was fifth in regional and 14th in semistate after averaging 187.

Kendall Winnick, Kankakee Valley, junior: She took eighth place in sectional, sixth in regional and 21st in semistate after averaging 174 in the Quad County Conference.
