Amongst the children was Kieran, six , from Lincolnshire, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in May 2016, which was surgically removed, Connor, 16, from Coventry, who is currently living with a rare genetic condition called Phelan McDermaid Syndrome, Tia-Grace, 15, from Surrey, who is living a rare neurological condition called Neuromyelitis Optica, and Miah, nine, from Andover, who was diagnosed with Wilms Tumours, a rare cancer of the kidneys, in May 2016. As a result of her condition, Miah has had to have her kidney removed, as well as endure weeks of chemotherapy treatment.
The exclusive event was hosted by Rays of Sunshine’s fundraising partner, Outfit, in central London, where Olly spent time chatting to all of the children, before posing for photos.
When it was Kieran’s turn to ask the famous singer a question, he asked him if he could sing Why Do I Love You? with him, and Olly was more than happy to oblige. Kieran, who was dressed in a festive reindeer jumper also got to sing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with the popstar.
The youngster said: "Today has been the best day of my life!"
Olly said: "I love being an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine and meeting so many fantastic families and children, just like Kieran. It was a pleasure to chat to Kieran and his family, spending time getting to know them. I had an amazing time and a very big thank you to Outfit for making it so special."
Kieran’s wish was made possible thanks to Rays of Sunshine’s partner Outfit. This partnership will see the fashion chain grant a series of VIP makeover and shopping wishes for seriously ill children across the UK, as well as fundraise to help grant magical wishes.
